University of Southampton ตั้งอยู่ที่เมือง Southampton หรือบริเวณ South Coast of England ซึ่งห่างจากลอนดอน เพียง 1 ชั่งโมง 10 นาทีไปทางตอนใต้ การเดินทางจากลอนดอนทำได้โดยทางรถไฟจากสถานีวอเตอร์ลู (Waterloo) เมือง Southampton มีประชากร 234,600 คน โดยเป็นนักศึกษากว่า 50,000 คน เป็นเมืองท่าระดับโลกและยังได้รับการขนานนามให้เป็นเมืองหลวงแห่งการล่อง เรือสำราญในยุโรป (Cruise Capital of Europe)

University of Southampton ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี 1862 เป็นสมาชิกของ Russell Group กลุ่มมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำของอังกฤษที่มีการทำงานวิจัยอย่างเข้มข้นมาเป็นเวลานาน มีนักเรียนทั้งหมด 22,665 คนและเป็นนักเรียนต่างชาติ 6,500 คน มีวิทยาเขตทั้งหมด 7 แห่ง โดยวิทยาเขตหลัก คือ Highfield Campus ซึ่งมีบรรยากาศร่มรื่น เหมาะแก่การเรียนเป็นอย่างมาก, Avenue  Campus, Boldrewood Campus, National Oceanography Centre, Winchester School of Art, Southampton General Hospital และ ทางมหาวิทยาลัยเพิ่งเปิดตัววิทยาเขตใหม่ที่ประเทศมาเลเซีย (Malaysia Campus) ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ EduCity @ Iskandar ห่างจากประเทศสิงคโปร์ไปเพียง 30 นาที โดยวิทยาเขตนี้จะสอนปริญญาตรีด้านวิศวกรรมศาสตร์เท่านั้น

คณะที่เปิดสอนได้แก่ บริหารธุรกิจ, กฏหมาย, วิศวกรรมศาสตร์, สิ่งแวดล้อม, วิทยาศาสตร์ชีวภาพ, มนุษศาสตร์, การแพทย์, วิทยาสาสตร์สิ่งแวดล้อม ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ใน 6 วิทยาเขตซึ่งได้แก่ Highfield (Main Campus), The Avenue, Boldrewood, National Oceanography Centre, Southampton (NOCS), Winchester School of Art, Southampton General Hospital

Undergraduate Foundation Programme (UFP)

Undergraduate Foundation Programme ที่ University of Southampton เป็นหลักสูตรสำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ รวมถึงนักศึกษาไทยที่ต้องการเรียนต่อปริญญาตรีที่ประเทศอังกฤษ เนื่องจากการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาของประเทศไทยใช้เวลาเรียนน้อยกว่าประเทศ อังกฤษ 1 ปี นักศึกษาไทยจึงถูกกำหนดให้ต้องเรียนหลักสูตร Foundation 1 ปีก่อนเพื่อปรับความรู้ เมื่อเรียนจบและสอบผ่านเกณฑ์ตามที่มหาวิทยาลัยกำหนดจะสามารถเข้าเรียนต่อที่ University of Southampton อีก 3 ปี รวมทั้งหมดตลอดหลักสูตรเรียน 4 ปี

หลักเกณฑ์ในการรับสมัคร

• จบมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ยสะสม GPA 2.50+
• จบมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ยสะสม GPA 2.00+
• 3 Terms: IELTS 5.0  with no single element less than 5.0
• 4 Terms: IELTS 4.5 with no single element less than 4.5
