โปรแกรม International Foundation Year ที่ Manchester Metropolitan University เป็นหลักสูตรสำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ รวมถึงนักศึกษาไทยที่ต้องการเรียนต่อระดับปริญญาตรีที่สหราชอาณาจักร เนื่องจากการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาของประเทศไทยใช้เวลาเรียนน้อยกว่าประเทศอังกฤษ 1 ปี นักศึกษาไทยจึงถูกกำหนดให้ต้องเรียนหลักสูตร Foundation 1 ปีก่อนเพื่อปรับความรู้ ทั้งนี้ไม่ได้ทำให้เสียเวลาเรียนแต่อย่างใดเพราะมหาวิทยาลัยของอังกฤษใช้เวลาเรียนเพียง 3 ปีเท่านั้น

- โปรแกรม 4 เทอม สำหรับนักเรียนที่ได้ IELTS 4.5 (with a minimum of 4.5 in writing)
- โปรแกรม 3 เทอม สำหรับนักเรียนที่ได้ IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum of 5.0 in writing)
