สวัสดีค่ะ วันนี้พี่ๆ EFL มีข้อมูลสำคัญสำหรับน้องๆ ที่สนใจไปเรียนต่อที่ประเทศออสเตรเลียมาฝาก เกี่ยวกับมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำหรือที่เราเรียกกันอย่างติดปากว่า Group of Eight (Go8) มีที่มาอย่างไร มีมหาวิทยาลัยอะไรบ้าง แล้วใครกันที่เหมาะจะไปเรียนต่อที่มหาวิทยาลัยเหล่านี้ พี่ๆ สรุปข้อมูลแน่นๆ มาให้แล้ว ไปอ่านกันเลยค่ะ
ความเป็นมาของ Group of Eight
Go8 คือการรวมตัวของมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำและเก่าแก่ที่สุดในประเทศออสเตรเลีย 8 แห่ง ก่อตั้งขึ้นตั้งแต่ปี 1999 โดยสำนักงานอำนวยการหลักอยู่ที่เมือง Canberra เมืองหลวงของประเทศออสเตรเลีย โดยมีพันธสัญญาร่วมกันคือ การเป็นผู้นำในการส่งเสริมกำหนดนโยบายการศึกษาระดับอุดมศึกษาที่ยั่งยืน และร่วมกันพัฒนาการทำงานวิจัยของเหล่ามหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำ
Go8 ประกอบไปด้วยมหาวิทยาลัยอะไรบ้าง
- University of Melbourne (เมืองเมลเบิร์น รัฐ Victoria)
- Australian National University (เมืองซิดนีย์ รัฐ Australian Capital Territory)
- University of Sydney (เมืองซิดนีย์ รัฐ New South Wales)
- University of Queensland (เมืองบริสเบน รัฐ Queensland)
- University of Western Australia (เมืองเพิร์ท รัฐ Western Australia)
- University of Adelaide (เมืองแอดิเลด รัฐ South Australia)
- Monash University (เมืองเมลเบิร์น รัฐ Victoria)
- UNSW Sydney (เมืองซิดนีย์ รัฐ New South Wales)
คุณภาพการศึกษาระดับโลก
มหาวิทยาลัย Go8 ล้วนแต่เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยชื่อดังและติดอันดับ Top 1% ของโลกทั้งสิ้น เนื่องจากหลายๆ ปัจจัย เช่น คุณภาพการเรียนการสอนของอาจารย์ คุณภาพสวัสดิการของเจ้าหน้าที่ ความพึงพอใจของนักศึกษา สิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกต่างๆ และการสนับสนุนที่มหาวิทยาลัยมีให้ รวมไปถึงจำนวนงานวิจัยที่ได้รับการตีพิมพ์
โดยงานวิจัยของมหาวิทยาลัยในออสเตรเลียนั้น สร้างรายได้ให้ประเทศมากเป็นอันดับต้นๆ ของโลก 99% ของงานวิจัยได้รับการยอมรับอย่างแพร่หลายและสร้างผลกระทบเป็นวงกว้าง ข้อมูลจาก London Economist ระบุว่าเฉพาะงานวิจัยของ Go8 สร้างมูลค่าให้ประเทศสูงถึง 66.4 พันล้านเหรียญ หรือคิดเป็นเงินไทยประมาณหนึ่งหมื่นห้าพันล้านบาทและ 71% ของงบสนับสนุนการศึกษาจากรัฐบาลออสเตรเลียต่างมอบให้มหาวิทยาลัยเหล่านี้ เพราะฉะนั้น ในฐานะของนักศึกษา เราสามารถมั่นใจได้ว่าจะได้รับคุณภาพการศึกษาที่ดีระดับโลกแน่นอน
ค่าเล่าเรียน
คุณภาพและชื่อเสียงย่อมมาพร้อมกับค่าเรียนที่ค่อนข้างสูงและเกณฑ์การรับสมัครที่สูงตาม ตัวอย่าง เช่น ค่าเรียน Master of Business Analytics ที่ Univeristy of Melbourne ค่าเรียนต่อปีอยู่ที่ AUD$70,400 หรือคิดเป็นเงินไทยประมาณ 1.6 ล้านบาท หรือ Master of Commerce ที่ University of Sydney อยู่ที่ AUD$54,000 ต่อปี หรือประมาณ 1.2 ล้านบาท แต่ก็ไม่เสมอไป เช่น University of Western Australia ค่าเรียน Master of Commerce อยู่ที่ AUD$44,200 หรือประมาณหนึ่งล้านกว่าบาทเท่านั้นและค่าครองชีพก็ถูกกว่าเมืองอื่นๆ หลายเท่า
ทุนการศึกษา
มหาวิทยาลัยใน Go8 ต่างทราบดีว่าค่าเรียนอาจเป็นอุปสรรคสำคัญในการเรียนต่อสำหรับนักเรียนที่มีความสามารถ จึงมีทุนการศึกษาให้แก่นักเรียนต่างชาติมากมาย โดยบางมหาวิทยาลัยมีตั้งแต่ทุนที่ให้อัตโนมัติเมื่อได้รับการตอบรับ ทุนบางส่วน 25%-50% หรือแม้แต่ทุนเต็มจำนวน 100% น้องๆ สามารถเช็คเกณฑ์การให้ทุนของแต่ละมหาวิทยาลัยกับพี่ๆ EFL ได้เลย
เงินเดือนเริ่มต้นและโอกาสในการทำงานต่อ
แม้ว่าค่าเรียนจะค่อนข้างสูงและเกรดก็อาจจะเป็นอุปสรรคเล็กน้อย แต่หากเข้าไปเรียนในมหาวิทยาลัย Go8 สามารถวางใจได้ระดับหนึ่งว่านักศึกษาที่เรียนจบมา มีสถิติการได้งานสูงมากกว่ามหาวิทยาลัยอื่นๆ โดยงานวิจัยจาก Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) ระบุว่า นักศึกษาต่างชาติจบใหม่เงินเดือนเริ่มต้นปีแรกที่ AUD$ 60,000 หรือประมาณ 1.38 ล้านบาท ยังไม่รวมถึงสิทธิ์ในการขอ Post-Study Visa อยู่ต่อเพื่อทำงานได้ 3-5 ปีทันที หากเราเรียนจบปริญญา 2 ปีขึ้นไป โดยวีซ่าประเภทนี้สามารถขอได้ทุกคนที่เข้าเกณฑ์
เกณฑ์การรับสมัคร (ยกเว้นค่าสมัคร)
ในการรับเข้าเรียน มหาวิทยาลัยของออสเตรเลียจะดูที่เกรดเฉลี่ยเป็นหลัก ยกเว้นว่าบางสาขาที่ต้องจบตรงสาย หรือต้องมีประสบการณ์การทำงาน โดยแต่ละแห่งมีเกณฑ์การรับสมัครไม่เท่ากัน แต่แนะนำว่าควรจะมีเกรดเฉลี่ยที่ดี เนื่องจากการเรียนของมหาวิทยาลัยในเครือมีความเข้มข้นมากๆ รวมถึงทักษะภาษาอังกฤษ รับที่คะแนน IELTS 6.5-7.0 หรือเทียบเท่า อย่างไรก็ตาม มหาวิทยาลัยมีหลักสูตรปรับพื้นฐานหากคะแนนภาษาของเราไม่ถึงเกณฑ์ (ELICOS) และบางแห่งจะยกเว้นการสอบ IELTS ให้หากเรียนจบหลักสูตรอินเตอร์ เช็คข้อมูลกับพี่ๆ EFL ได้เลยค่ะ
