Aston University ก่อตั้งขึ้นครั้งแรกในปี ค.ศ. 1985 และได้รับสถานะเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยในปี ค.ศ. 1966 เป็นสถาบันการศึกษาที่ให้ความสำคํยในการสร้างองค์ความรู้จากงานวิจัยที่ก่อตั้งมาอย่างยาวนาน มหาวิทยาลัยมีชื่อเสียงด้านคุณภาพการเรียนการสอน มีพันธมิตรที่สำคัญกับแวดวงอุตสาหกรรม หน่วยงานรัฐบาล และภาคธุรกิจอย่างกว้างขวาง

Aston University มีที่พักภายในวิทยาเขตใจกลางเมืองเบอร์มิ่งแฮม ซึ่งเมืองที่ใหญ่เป็นอันดับสองของประเทศอังกฤษรวมถึงห้องสมุด โรงยิม และสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกทางการเรียนอย่างครบครัน เมืองเบอร์มิ่งแฮมได้ชื่อว่าเป็นเมืองที่มีสีสันมากที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งของทวีปยุโรป เพราะมีกิจกรรมให้ทำมากมากอย่างเช่น แหล่งท่องเที่ยวยามค่ำคืน การเดินทางท่องเที่ยว วัฒนธรรม กีฬา แหล่งช็อปปิ้ง และย่านออฟฟิศ ซึ่งสถานที่ทั้งหมดนี้สามารถเดินไปได้จากมหาวิทยาลัยและใช้เวลาเพียงไม่กี่นาทีเท่านั้น

ในปี 2020 ทาง Guardian League Tables ได้จัดให้ Aston University อยู่อันดับที่ 34 ของสถาบันการศึกษาที่ดีที่สุด นอกจากนี้มหาวิทยาลัยยังได้รับรางวัลระดับ Gold จากการประเมินคุณภาพการเรียนการสอน (Teaching Excellence Framework – TEF 2017) ซึ่งเป็นระดับที่สูงที่สุดอีกด้วย นอกจากนี้กว่า 84% ของนักศึกษามีความพึงพอใจในสถาบัน (จากการสำรวจ National Student Survey ครั้งล่าสุดในปี 2018) ได้รับระดับ 5 ดาว จากการประเมินด้านการเรียนการสอน อัตราการเข้าทำงานของบัณฑิต นวัตกรรม สิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกทางการเรียน ความครบครัน และความเป็นนานาชาติ

Undergraduate Foundation Programme (UFP)

โปรแกรม Undergraduate Foundation ของ Aston University เป็นหลักสูตรสำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ รวมถึงนักศึกษาไทยที่ต้องการเรียนต่อระดับปริญญาตรีที่ประเทศอังกฤษ เนื่องจากการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาของประเทศไทยใช้เวลาเรียนน้อยกว่าประเทศ อังกฤษ 1 ปี นักศึกษาไทยจึงถูกกำหนดให้ต้องเรียนหลักสูตร Foundation 1 ปีก่อนเพื่อปรับความรู้  ทั้งนี้ไม่ได้ทำให้เสียเวลาเรียนแต่อย่างใด เพราะมหาวิทยาลัยของอังกฤษใช้เวลาเรียนในระดับปริญญาตรีเพียง 3 ปีเท่านั้น สำหรับหลักสูตร Undergraduate Foundation ของ Aston University นั้นจะเปิดสอนที่ ONCAMPUS Aston University

หลักเกณฑ์ในการรับสมัคร

• จบมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ยสะสม GPA 2.50
• จบมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ยสะสม GPA 2.00
• IELTS 4.5 (at least 4.0 in all skills) สำหรับ 3 เทอม
