Anglia Ruskin University ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1852 โดย Sir John Ruskin ตั้งอยู่ในเมือง Cambridge ชื่อ Anglia มาจากอาณาเขตที่ตั้งของเมืองอยู่ที่ Anglia Region โดยตั้งอยู่ติดกับมหาวิทยาลัย Cambridge University ที่มีชื่อเสียง มหาวิทยาลัย Anglia Ruskin University มี 2 วิทยาเขต คือที่ใจกลางเมือง Cambridge และ Chelmsford ซึ่งจะห่างออกไปจากตัวเมือง Cambridge ประมาณ 45 นาที

มหาวิทยาลัย Anglia Ruskin มีนักเรียนทั้งหมดที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนทั้งระดับปริญญาตรี และปริญญาโททั้งหมดกว่า 30,000 คน และมีนักเรียนต่างชาติมากถึง 2,000 กว่าคน ในที่นี้ มีนักเรียนไทยอยู่ประมาณ 26 คน

International Foundation Year 

โปรแกรม International Foundation Year ที่ Anglia Ruskin University เป็นหลักสูตรสำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ รวมถึงนักศึกษาไทยที่ต้องการเรียนต่อระดับปริญญาตรีที่ประเทศอังกฤษ เนื่องจากการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาของประเทศไทยใช้เวลาเรียนน้อยกว่าประเทศ อังกฤษ 1 ปี นักศึกษาไทยจึงถูกกำหนดให้ต้องเรียนหลักสูตร Foundation 1 ปีก่อนเพื่อปรับความรู้  ทั้งนี้ไม่ได้ทำให้เสียเวลาเรียนแต่อย่างใด เพราะมหาวิทยาลัยของอังกฤษใช้เวลาเรียนในระดับปริญญาตรีเพียง 3 ปีเท่านั้น

 

หลักเกณฑ์ในการรับสมัคร

  • จบมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ยสะสม GPA 2.60
  • จบมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ยสะสม GPA 2.00
  • IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all subskills)

First Year Pathway หรือ International Year One ที่ Anglia Ruskin University เป็นหลักสูตรสำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ รวมถึงนักศึกษาไทยที่ต้องการเรียนต่อระดับปริญญาตรีที่ประเทศอังกฤษ ซึ่งเทียบเท่ากับปี 1 ของที่อังกฤษ เมื่อเรียนจบแล้วสามารถต่อปี 2 ได้เลย เหมาะสำหรับน้องๆที่จบระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 เกรดเฉลี่ย 2.60 ขึ้นไป
